In Africa some of …
In Africa some of my friends were missionaries and they made purees out of the range grass when it was tender and green. Grass is loaded with proteins too. Do whatever we have to do to survive. I’d learn the native plants in your region, so you won’t starve to death. Do that right away.

Yes if we have an …
Yes if we have an actual famine, I’ll be able to locate some regular grass that is unlikely to have had pesticides on it recently, and juice that. It will add a lot to my nutrition. You never know. If we had an EMP for example My only way out of the city would be my bicycle (since the ignition on my car and scooter would be destroyed). If that happened, I’d pack a few things and that juicer. I’m getting the hand crank type.

I know that the …
I know that the wheat to plant in the winter is Red Hard Winter Wheat, and there is a soft white winter wheat. I went online and was able to see the grains upclose. Just search under images and there are hundreds of pictures.

I am aware of the …
I am aware of the differences between winter, and spring Wheat… My question was if anyone knows how to tell the seeds from one another. I have wheat grain that I would like to plant, and see if it produces… but I can’t tell if it is winter, or spring wheat. once I know that – I can plant it and find out if it’s GM, or hybrid

Thank you for the …
Thank you for the info. I will buy a wheat grass juicer, when I can afford it. So then you don’t have to chop up your wheat grass, probably either, right? It most likely will work also like with other wild grasses too.

I was lucky to have …
I was lucky to have a friend in the wheatgrass organic growers faction. He sells his to 3 major grocery chains, and can hardly keep up with the orders. I think alot of the these ideas I’m posting by video will help people also make extra money. Even the sourdough bread people will buy the starters and order the bread from you too. Nice also to have items that you can barter “trade” in hard times.

It grows very fast and easily. You get two crops out of your wheat grass, the second crop grew thicker and much taller. Mine got to about 8 inches again in 1 week.

Soft spring wheats …
Soft spring wheats are used in the United States to make all-purpose flour used in a wide variety of baked products, but in Canada is labelled as specialty cake flour. Hard winter wheats have a higher content in protein and gluten and are often used for yeast breads. Durum is the hardest wheat and is primarily used for making pasta; however, almost all durum wheat grown in North America is spring planted.

Winter wheat is a …
Winter wheat is a cereal. In the Northern Hemisphere, winter wheats are planted in the autumn, from September through December. Winter wheat sprouts before freezing occurs, then becomes dormant until the soil warms up in the spring. Persistent snow cover might be disadvantageous; however, winter wheat needs a few weeks of cold before being able to flower. The wheat grows and matures until ready to be harvested by early July.

You don’t have to drink wheatgrass, it’s just a real quick blast of liquid folic acid. I only like wheatgrass when it’s cut with carrot juice, and sometimes with apple cider. Make things that make you body feel good and that you enjoy.

Yeah, if the …
Yeah, if the compost is older it’s already forming amonia, which is filled with vital nitrogen. But after the smells gone, the compost is sweet smelling. I usally compost my veggie scraps every couple of days, and it doesn’t smell bad. However with the wheatgrass composts, it always stinks.

I have a juicer …
I have a juicer that’s much like yours. Only problem is that they aren’t very good at removing juice from wheat grass. For that you need a juicer that really squeezes the grass. For things like apples and carrots, the centrifugal style that we both have works great. I’m going to pickup one of the squeezer types too.
Here’s an example of the type you need for wheat grass.
