Ending a Juice Fast

The popularity of juice fast is ever so rising especially among health conscious people who have seen and experience the revitalizing and effectiveness of the juice fast to the body. Numerous health benefits can be associated with juice fasting and its safe and effectiveness alone prompted many to try it on their own. There are a lot of reasons as to why people perform fasting and this technique has been accepted worldwide to help people in attaining the desired body they want.

The success of a juice fast also includes the careful process of ending it and it requires enormous effort as it is not simply done. Most people who have started juice fasting haven’t really thought about how the fast will end and this is critical because it must not be done in a rush. One must be observant of the body when undergoing a fast, certain changes must be apparent internally and externally so to evaluate that the fast has certainly take its effect on the body. Knowing that the fast was effective on the body will be the basis of preparing for the ending process, it will also help in deciding if the body is able to undergo more fasting or not.

Once everything has been taken into account, the decision to finally stop fasting will be the next process. To stop a fast is not that easy because it should be not too soon or either not too late to stop the fast, thus a thorough assessment of the body is important so that there would not be any drawbacks with the end result of the fasting. The first thing that you will need to do is to “break-the-fast”, in performing this you will start on eating fruits which have higher water content. The reason behind eating water based fruits is that so it will easily be digested and absorbed by the body, thus it is not recommended that after a fasting period that the body underwent that solid foods will be immediately introduced to the body as it will lead to unwanted side effects. Grapefruit, orange, mandarin, apple and other watery fruits are recommended to consume. Foods which are raw are also better to eat as they still have more water content as compared to cooked foods.

For the next few days ahead, slowly increase the amounts of the foods that you eat though there may be some instances that a fasting period lasted 10 days thus incorporating food sooner may not be advisable. To switch from fasting into normal practice of eating should not be rushed thus it takes days or weeks when one resumes to the normal eating practices. Consume as much fluids as you can like broths, soups, juices, teas and etc. so that the body can still receive nutrients and natural enzymes it needs.

An essential part of the ending phase of juice fasting is the incorporation of foods into one’s meal that is why it is important that one has already assessed the body to decide whether it is okay to start eating solid foods already, if you feel that you still can’t do that then don’t.
