Losing Weight Consistently


The current high levels of obesity have made weight control a major health priority throughout the World. At the same time, statistics show that average weight loss for dieters on conventional diets amounts to a mere 5-8 pounds per annum.

Is dieting so difficult? Yes, Thats true in practically. There are three reasons. We don’t have a sufficiently powerful incentive; we let ourselves go hungry; and we don’t deal effectively with “bad days”.

In order to lose any weight, the first thing you need to do is become aware of your eating pattern. You must be sure that you are knowledgeable of what types of foods you consume the most of, and what foods are your major problems. Using a food journal will make it relatively simple to keep a log of your consumption. Make record you food intake daily in order to maximize the effectiveness.

As you begin to document your daily food consumption, you should then start to learn how to effectively read food labels. By reading and understanding food labels, you will begin to have a better understanding of what foods you need to begin to avoid. Be aware that just because a food is low in calories or even sugar free, that it still may not be good for you. While you want to decrease you calorie intake, you still want to maintain good health. Pay special attention to all labels and food claims to maintain your weight loss.

While it may make logical sense to cut out as many meals as possible though out the day, it will only cause complications. Since you are trying to lose weight, you will need to refrain from eating three big meals a day. But you do not need to eat only one big meal a day either. This will only hurt your process.

Eat about 5 or 6 small meals daily that are low in calorie and sugar. Wholesome foods are great choices for your small meals. Fruits and vegetables are also a very health addition you should make to your diet. 5 servings of fruits and vegetables can do wonders for your weight loss.

It will take a lot of motivation to get you through the tough times you will face as you attempt to change your lifestyle. If you realistically set specific goals of how much weight you really want to lose, it can increase your chances of seeing the results you want. When you have a specific number in your head, you can properly take the additional steps to achieve that number. Each week you should write down how many pounds you want to lose. Use your journal to document each day you take towards that goal. You will quickly discover that writing your goals down increases your chances of accomplishing them and real weight loss.

Have a food journal of your own which will help you to identify the amount of calories present in the food items you eat daily. Finally, have the habit of exercising daily. Exercise daily at least about one hour each day. Exercise would help burn large amount of calories in your body.
