Online acai hoax – how do I get out of it?
I had thought to try acai, so I clicked on a link for a free trial. Uh oh. By the next morning they had shipped the product I had requested plus another product I hadn’t requested, billed me for both products, and signed me up for an online diet/fitness tracker that is planning to bill me 29.95 per month if I don’t call and cancel it within a few days. Only problem is, no one answers the phone at that number!
Would it be best to cancel my credit card?
call your credit card company and ask to dispute the charge. The cc will back out the charge, you need to return the product via mail or fedex or whatever, just so long as you have a receipt. If the acai company never contacts the cc to reverse the dispute, you then don’t have to pay. Also tell the cc company to block this vendor from making any sort of direct debit from your account in the future, so they don’t get to hit you up for the per month charge

do some research on the company, see if there is an address or another number you can contact them at. Don’t cancel your credit card unless that is your LAST resort. That will hurt your credit..

Keep records so you could sue them when worst comes to worst.
Cancel your credit card and they’ll sue you.

CIRCLE/HIGHLIGHT THE THINGS YOU CLICKED ON. YOU CAN SUE THEM IF WORST COMES TO WORST.

That would be your best bet for now. Cancel it, and then see if there is any other way you can contact them.

Same happened to my mom just say your 15 year old son (doesn’t matter weather or not you have one) signed you up for it and that you want to cancel it that way they have to because “he” was under age.
