Acai …the fruit of the cabbage palm that grows in tropical American swamps.

Nice taste, makes fabulous sorbets, can be fermented into hooch that will knock your head off … but it’s just fruit juice.

I’ve seen it at import food stores, 100% acai juice from Brazil.

Depending on where you live, you can find it in the produce section of your local grocery store. For instance, they sell the brand Zola here at B-Lo grocery stores. You may also be able to find them at organic food stores.

I have not tried that product but I like the Sambazon smoothies and juices and Bossa Nova juices. Haagen Dazs has a great sorbet made with acai pulp. I haven’t tried Sambazon’s freeze dried acai yet, but supposedly that is the best form because it keeps it’s natural nutritional value better.

If you must use a store, go to Whole Foods.
